Dinner and great conversation to kick off the semester! 🍕

UTeach South brought our STEM students and local mentor teachers together this week before field placements officially start. We got to celebrate how much this program has grown—and give some well-deserved credit to the local teachers who make it work.

UTeach is a unique path because our Jags are earning a full STEM degree alongside their teaching certification. Having area educators open up their classrooms to guide them through that process makes all the difference.

Thank you to all of our mentor teachers for spending the evening with us and supporting our future educators! 🔴🔵

Future Jaguar teachers in action! 🍎

Our elementary education candidates stepped into an immersive classroom transformation today to experience integrated math learning from a student’s perspective. Gathering on the carpet to share ideas was the highlight of the day!

At South, we’re proud to prepare our candidates to lead engaging classrooms from day one. 🔴🔵

In collaboration with the South Alabama Regional Autism Network, CEPS recently hosted over 50 caregivers and service providers on campus to discuss navigating the transition from high school to adulthood for students with disabilities.

Participants exchanged valuable resources, connected with regional support agencies, and left with practical strategies to help students succeed in their next chapter.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to connect, learn, and grow together!

Misty went back to high school! 🤖

Dr. Ahmet Hacikara and Computer Science graduate student Nicole Bedinger recently visited Ms. Rachel Baxter’s class at Davidson High School to showcase how technology is shaping the future of hospitality.

Students got a hands-on look at Misty the robot, explored academic opportunities within our Hospitality and Tourism Management program, and learned what it’s like to be a Jaguar at the University of South Alabama.

We loved connecting with these future Jags! 🐆
