This South Alabama student organization represents the 2,100 students who currently live on campus & serves as the governing and programming board for all residence halls. The USA Residence Hall Association consists of the executive board officers, representatives from each community and committee members. Input from all RHA members is utilized to develop campus-wide social events, respond to the
issues and needs of residential students, and enhance the total residence hall living experience. RHA members also have the opportunity to serve as delegates to state, regional and national leadership conferences. RHA provides an excellent opportunity for you to get involved on campus and gain leadership experience! Become a Community Representative – Each community elects Community Representatives in the beginning of the fall semester. Those elected represent the interests and ideas from their community at weekly RHA meetings. They are responsible for taking information from RHA meetings back to the students they represent, as well as promoting RHA events within their community. The Community Representative also serves on one of RHA’s three standing committees. Join an RHA Committee – RHA has three standing committees. The Campus Connections Committee plans and implements campus-wide social events for all on-campus students. These events include Welcome Week, Outdoor Movies, and much more. The Community Service Committee coordinates service activities, as well as fundraising efforts, for a variety of nonprofit agencies in the Mobile area. The Community Issues & Development Committee addresses student issues and concerns and coordinates leadership development opportunities for RHA members. Become an Executive Board Member – The RHA executive board is comprised of five members: Director, Associate Director, Director of Finance, Director of Marketing, and National Communications Coordinator. These eight individuals work as a team to oversee all RHA activities and network with other student leaders and on-campus student organizations, as well as maintain the RHA Office. The executive board is elected in February to serve in the upcoming year, receiving invaluable leadership experience for future endeavors. The RHA Office, located on the ground level of Epsilon II. Residence Hall provides a meeting, study, and lounge space with opportunities to sit back and relax with friends. The RHA Office is also the location of the RHA executive board office and NRHH office. RHA meets every Wednesday at 5:30PM in the Epsilon II TV Room.
