Our chapter has 139 members and is part of a national sisterhood, since 1969, with more than 230,000 members and chapters across the country. Together we are making great things happen in women’s lives and on campuses and in communities nationwide. Kappa Delta inspires its members to reach their potential by offering opportunities for leadership, personal development, academic success and communit

y service, all in the context of true friendship. The purpose of Kappa Delta Sorority is to promote true friendship among the college girls of our country by inculcating into their hearts and lives those principles of truth, of honor, of duty, without which there can be no true friendship. The object of Kappa Delta Sorority is the formation and perpetuation of good fellowship, friendship and sisterly love among its members; the encouragement of literature and education; the promotion of social interest; and the furtherance of charitable and benevolent purposes.

“Hey everybody!! If you know me you know that I am always down for a car ride, sweet treat, fun drink, or impromptu trips to the beach to watch the sunset! As someone who is a big family person, coming into Kappa Delta I was able to find a family of sisters that I never knew I needed but came at the perfect time! I love being able to walk into the house and there is an immediate smile on my face from the girls that are sitting there and laughing with each other! One thing that I love to do is paint and any type of crafting hobby(if it exists, I have probably tried it). Whether I am doing crafts or painting sheet signs and banners, I love being able to participate in my chapter through something that I love already!! With the friendships, opportunities, and values of Kappa Delta that I have gained, I will forever be grateful!”

Addison is always a friendly face and we are so grateful for our creative contributions to Delta Sigma!

Our next with Ella Wood PC ‘23!!

“I went through recruitment because I wanted to find a home away from home. I wanted friendships, leadership opportunities, and people who would truly feel like family throughout college and beyond. I picked Kappa Delta because it felt the most genuine from the beginning. I felt seen, welcomed, and valued the second I stepped foot into kappa delta. KD has shown me that they are the kind of girls I wanted to surround myself with. No matter what, KD feels like home because the values, friendships, and support stay the same. It’s the kind of place where people celebrate your successes, support you during hard times, and always make you feel like you belong. Even after transferring, KD still gives me that same sense of comfort and familiarity that made me fall in love with it in the first place. I continue to pick KD because transferring has shown me that KD is bigger than just one campus or one chapter it’s a lifelong sisterhood. No matter where I go, I know I’ll always have people who understand me and make me feel at home. Choosing KD wasn’t just a one-time decision during recruitment, it’s something I would choose over and over again because of the friendships, memories, and support it has given me. No matter what chapter I’m in, KD will always feel like home, and I’ll always choose KD.”

Abbie and Savannah are rising seniors who met in class freshman year!! Hear what they have to say about how KD strengthened their friendship:

“I met Abbie for the first time freshman year in kinesiology class. She had sent me a DM on Instagram about having class together and going to church together. Who knew that one message could turn into a lifelong friendship. Abbie and I also went through spring recruitment together, which brought us even closer and strengthened our friendship even more. Abbie is one of my best friends, and I truly cannot imagine life without her. She’s always down for errand runs, study sessions, Campus Outreach nights, or even just coming to each other’s rooms to talk about whatever is going on in life. Without Abbie, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I know I can always count on her when I need her most. I love you so much, Abbie, and I can’t imagine being in KD without you! Time to take on senior year together. I love you endlessly!!”
-Savannah Graham

“I first met Savannah freshman year through church towards the end of our first semester! I reached out to her because I did not have a car on campus and needed a ride, and come to find out, she sat diagonally behind me in one of our classes! Since the moment I first got in her car, we clicked! She became one of my closest and one of my very best friends very fast! We rushed KD together in the spring and have been together ever since! I’m so thankful that God, South, and KD brought us together and that we have been able to learn the in’s and out’s of college together. I cherish our friendship so much with all of our study sessions at the intramural fields, going on walks, beach trips, grocery runs, literally anything! I can confidently say that Savannah and I are going to be friends for a very long time I am forever grateful that we met! I love you Sav!”

“Hey y’all! I’m currently a sophomore at South and transferred into the chapter this past spring from a school in Birmingham! In just three months, I have made my absolute best friends in this chapter! The shared values of friendship and genuineness have changed my life for the better and my experience coming into South! I absolutely adore going on walks by the bay and going on morning coffee runs with my sisters! I also love photography- it’s my favorite hobby!!! Anything artsy or crafty!!! I am always down to have a movie night and craft! As an English major, I love love love reading, especially by the pool in the summer! I love romance and thrillers and am always down to go find a new book! KD has brought the sweetest memories, surrounding me with sisters who share the same love for life as me and I truly don’t know where I would be without Kappa Delta. To transfer in as a new girl at a new school and to be surrounded by such loving, patient, fun sisters has been the biggest blessing I could ask for in my move down here and I am forever indebted to Kappa Delta!”

Mia is such a bright light in the Delta Sigma chapter! We couldn’t be happier to have her here!!

“Coming to South from a small upstate town in New York, I had only really known my own group of friends, and as a girl with no sisters I was really looking for a girl group to make me feel at home when I was away. Going through recruitment I had no expectations, so to say Kappa Delta floored me with their humor, truth, and welcoming arms, I truly mean it. I was expecting a place where a group of women come together to volunteer but I got so much more. Random talks in the study room, bumping into each other at the library and studying for hours, and seeing how selfless and thoughtful each sister can be. I have always been a bit of a recluse, but I feel so much more confident and comfortable talking to anyone, since these last two years in KD taught me that anyone could be your friend if you give them the chance. The community that Kappa Delta provides is something that was so unexpected. I feel comfortable going anywhere in Mobile because I know I have over 100 people I can call that will take care of me, and make sure I’m safe. As I’m graduating next semester, I am feeling so grateful for the women of Delta Sigma and how they’ve brought me out of my shell, or nautilus lol, and impacted me in ways I’ll always remember.”

An iconic with Allison Ellisor (‘24) and her little, Gracie Ann Reed (‘25)!! 💕👯‍♀️

Allison and Gracie Ann are proof that when you know, you know! Here’s what this best friend and big/little duo have to say about their love for each other!

“When I first met Gracie Ann at her new member retreat I knew we were at least going to be really good friends. What I didn’t expect was us becoming big/little and her becoming one of my best friends. She is always down to go on drives to talk about the same stuff over and over again whenever I want. Having you as my little has been one of the best parts of my sorority experience. You bring so much light, laughter, and love into my life, and I’m so thankful for the bond we’ve built. Watching you grow and getting to be someone you can lean on means more to me than you know. No matter what, I’ll always be proud to call you my little and so lucky to have you in my life!” -Allison Ellisor

“From the moment I met Allison, I knew she would be important in my life. From the New Member Retreat to Emerald Pal dates, she has always been so funny and kind. When we had our big little date, I remember texting my mom about how much I loved her and how similar we were. She later became my big, but also the best friend I never knew I needed. I am so grateful for our friendship and without her I don’t think I would be who I am today. I know she is someone I can always depend on and will always be there for me. Allison, I love you so much and seriously don’t know where I would be without you!” -Gracie Ann Reed

Starting the week off right with ! Meet PC 23’s Alania Brown!! 📣

“If you know me you know I’m always down for a concert. I absolutely love live music in any setting, whether it’s a concert, live band at a restaurant, or a fun philanthropy event. There’s just something special about being surrounded by your friends doing something you love. Those are the kind of memories that I’ll never get tired of. Another thing that I love to do, and is also very important to me, is building confidence in young girls. I help coach cheer on the side and one of the things we strive to teach the girls is to believe in themselves. Whether it’s gaining confidence in a new skill, stepping into a leadership role, or performing in front of a crowd, watching them grow is so rewarding. That’s one of the reasons I love Kappa Delta so much, we share those same values with the Girl Scouts. Through different activities, we get to encourage young girls to be confident leaders and be the best version of themselves. Being able to experience friendship, leadership, and making a positive impact is something that means so much to me!”

You can depend on Alania for anything, especially a laugh! We are so lucky to call her our sister!
