Humanities degrees are, indeed, great because of what you learn beyond just their subject matter. Thank you, Mr. Welch, for sharing your experience.

Well done!

Excellent job Lauragrace Rader, Ireland Aaron, and Anna Batten on your talk to the Monroe Rotary Club last week! These three top-notch students spoke about the new ULM chapter of Rotary and about their work on a joint Rotary-ULM History Program project on gumbo in North Louisiana.

Thanks for organizing this, Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society and Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society!

We are proud to have such strong students at ULM!

Congratulations to Ireland Aaron, Mateline Bratton, and Antoine Iles for the excellent papers you presented at the Phi Alpha Theta Regional Conference in Lafayette, LA, on March 6! Their paper titles were as follow:

*Aaron, “Queens of Desire: How the Madams of Storyville Weaponized Mixed-Race Fantasies for Power and Profit”
*Bratton, “Between Saints and Sickness”
*Iles, “Coca-Cola and the American Dream: How the Biedenharn Family Rose to Fame”

Several of the professors and graduate students in attendance were highly complimentary and remarked that the conference as a whole was excellent. One historian stated that it was the best Phi Alpha Theta Conference he had attended "in at least the last thirty years."

Well done!

The costumes are great. Thanks History graduate students!
