**Support the Next Generation of Singers!**
The 2024 NATS Southern Region Student Auditions showcased breathtaking artistry,
with 130 students qualifying for the National Student Auditions (NSA). Many of these
talented singers need financial assistance to take the next step in their journey. The **Southern Region Vocal Arts Scholarship Fund** provides $75 grants to eligible NSA applicants, covering their registration fees. **Our goal is to raise $2,500—enough to support 33 students.** If we exceed this, we’ll begin assisting national semi-finalists with travel expenses, ensuring they can compete on the national stage.

Come support these 3 fine ULM students as they prepare to compete in the NATS National Student Auditions as semifinalists, each singing in 2 categories. As NSA semifinalists, they were chosen to advance in the competition as the top 14-15 in their categories on a national level. These Warhawks have talent! 🦅 🦅

Dr. Bianca Jackson's Lecture-Recital explored Black American composer Margaret Bonds’ musical accomplishments, socially focused initiatives, and highlight selected art songs and spirituals in a lecture-recital. By continuing the tradition of spirituals and forging new paths in art song, unique to her cultural influences, Bonds left a lasting contribution.

Today, Artist-in-Residence, Dr. Bianca Jackson, led a Masterclass at the University of Louisiana Monroe with Vocal-Area students. A coloratura soprano herself, she worked with several students to help them fine-tune their own vocal skills through performance of a well-rehearsed piece in front of an audience and the master teacher. We are always so appreciative of expert vocalists who choose to come to campus and share their talents with us. Thank you for spending time with us, Dr. Jackson!

Dr. Jackson will be presenting a Lecture-Recital tonight in the Recital Hall at 7:30 pm. All ULM students, faculty, staff, and members of the community are invited to attend. Admission is free.
