General information
Alpha Delta Pi is the first secret society for college women. Founded in 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia. The original name for the sorority was the "Adelphean Society." Adelphean is derived from the Greek word meaning "sister". The name changed to Alpha Delta Phi in 1905 and then, to Alpha Delta Pi in 1913. The basic principles and ritual are much the same as those developed by our founders. Finance: Alpha Fee: $88 Badge Fee: $150 for standard bage Initiation fee: $ 130 Delta Fee: $100 due once a year Delta monthly dues: $73 Parlor fee: deltas pay $20 a year for parlor fee Philanthropy: We are proud to support Ronald McDonald House of Charities. RMH provides comfort, care and "a home-away-from-home" for the families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Our sisters provide help to the families of RMH in many ways. We host a philanthropy event once a semester to raise money for RMH. One of our favorites is ADPi’s kind of the Jungle where the Greeks compete against each other to complete different ADPi related challenges. Sisters also have the opportunity to go the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham to cook and clean for the families at RMH and to make crafts to give to the children. We also attend philanthropy events hosted by other Greek organizations and love knowing we are helping their philanthropy that we know mean just as much to them as ours means to us. Check out our “Philanthropy” photo album to see more ways that we help with our as well as other Greek’s philanthropy. Chapter Events: We host many events as a chapter. Not only do we plan sisterhood events which are just for our sisters where we all learn about our history while having a great time together. We also host mixers with other fraternities and sororities. At the mixers we have a great time getting to know new Greeks while participating in fun activates. We also host a semi-formal and formal each year. One of our semi-formals that is unique to ADPi is Mallard ball. Mallard ball is a biannual event where all of our sisters and their dates dress up in their best camouflage outfits and spend the night dancing on the barn loft of old baker farm and vesting with the farm animals below. Our sisters never turn down an opportunity to spend time with one another and everyone always has a great time at our chapter events.
