Save the Date: Celebrating Black Joy!- Sunday, February 8th, 2026 at 4pm in the Presbyterian Church on Shelby Street

Theme: “Black Joy Now, Then, and Beyond” sponsored by the Montevallo Legacy Project

The featured speaker is Bishop Elvin B. Thompson who will be joined by his wife Valerie Thompson and his sister Joyce Jones.

The event will honor the nine young winners of the Black History Youth Banner Design Contest coordinated last year by the MLP. Check out the banners on Main Street! Please join us for this wonderful occasion!

Reminder: if you have plants to donate for the Thursday fundraiser, you can drop them off with Amanda at Carmichael Library or message Amanda or Andrea about pickup. If they need to be potted, please get them to us today by 5pm. If they are already potted, you can drop off by 10am Thursday. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!

Our hearts are broken, Tracy was president of Montevallo AAUW for several years and put her heart into the role.

It is with great sadness we share the death of former alumni director Dr. Tracy Payne Rockco.

Her legacy is abundant in the many lives she touched.
Our condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Rest peacefully, Tracy, your light will continue to shine in our lives.
