Zipporah Guerin '10, a Davis UWC Scholar, now has a career in sales and marketing. Zipporah was awarded a Davis scholarship to attend Stanford University where she earned a BA in Psychology.

Twenty-five years ago, a bold vision was launched, one that got its start in a visit to UWC-USA years earlier. The vision was to provide young, internationally-minded students with the opportunity to benefit from higher education and bring their perspectives to US colleges and universities.

The Davis UWC Scholars Program was born not just from a desire to fund
undergraduate education, but from a profound belief in the potential of UWC
graduates to act as catalysts for a more peaceful, sustainable, and just world.

The UWC-USA community is profoundly grateful to the Davis Family for their
extraordinary generosity, the vision they shared with Dr. Phil Geier for this
program, and their unwavering faith in our students.

REMEMBERING GIULIO REGENI ’07

A decade of painful waiting has led to a moment of long-awaited accountability. Following the verdict by an Italian court regarding the tragic loss of our alumnus, Giulio Regeni (UWC-USA ’07), our hearts are with his family, friends, and his UWC-USA classmates who loved him.

While no legal decision can lessen the profound grief of losing Giulio, we hope this step brings some measure of comfort and acknowledgment to those who have fought tirelessly for answers. Giulio’s brilliance, passion, and spirit remain a permanent part of our UWC community. We stand in solidarity with his loved ones today and always.

Water in a changing world was our theme for UWC Day 2026! Students explored water as a global and local challenge by learning about scarcity, quality, access, and stewardship by examining both global perspectives and the realities of living in the high desert environment of northeastern New Mexico.
