AUM senior communication major Shaniece McGhee, of Montgomery, was one of five national undergraduate students recently selected for the prestigious Broadcast Education Association (BEA) Multimedia Journalist scholarship. She will attend the BEA national annual conference (all expenses paid!) in April in Las Vegas where she and the MMJ team will report on and infuse various storytelling methods, such as writing, audio and video. Shaniece is a staff writer for the AUMnibus and member of AUMLive. Last year she won second place in the Southeast Journalism Conference (SEJC) podcasting category. We are super excited for Shaniece to receive this honor and attend BEA!👏👏

Congratulations to the AUM Theatre Department on celebrating 50 years of Theatre at AUM! 🎬Our past and present soaring Warhawks have been outstanding under the leadership of Professor Val and recently retired Professor Mike Winkelman. 🧡🖤

Theatre AUM’s first production, The Contrast by Royall Tyler, debuted in 1975 in Goodwyn Hall, launching five decades of theatrical excellence at Auburn University at Montgomery.

Half a century after that first performance lit the stage, Theatre AUM celebrated its golden year last week with a "50th Anniversary Showcase" featuring scenes, songs, monologues, and memories from across the program’s 50-year history. The Contrast was among the many productions revisited by the showcase’s 30-member ensemble of current and former students, faculty, and staff.

Our very own Tyreanna Causey delivered the keynote speech at today’s Donor and Scholar Recognition Luncheon. Professor Val Winkleman introduced her. Also at the luncheon were communication students Jennifer Tolbert, Jordan White and MacKenzie Powell and theatre student Cole Autrey.
