Kappa Delta Pi's "So you think you want to Teach" Round-Table Discussion was a success. Thanks to our panelists-Sharod Campbell (1st year Physical Education Teacher at Southlawn Middle), Ja'Qunicey Ponder-special guest (6-year teacher-Seth Johnson), Forrest Hillary (intern at Georgia Washington), and Cyndal Whiten (intern at Pike Road Elem, who has been hired by MPS already). Our moderators were La'Sha Perine (intern at Carver High School) and Avonna Montgomery (current COE Senior) KDP members, students and faculty who were able to support this endeavor. A very special heartfelt thanks to Alishia Miller, Vice-President of our chapter for putting it all together. Special thanks to Dr. Joyce Johnson and Geraldine Jones for their support; to Pearla Griffin, Eulys Hunt-Jackson and Dr. Saulawa for bringing their students to the event.

The idea to have current interns and first-year teachers discuss their experiences with our College of Education students was conceived by current members of Kappa Delta Pi, Nu Epsilon Chapter. There was so much dialogue, we had to shorten our list of questions.

I am so proud of this group-they are truly the cream of the crop and they are doing some amazing things!!!!

This will surely be an annual event!

Sincerely,

Karan White, Advisor
