Today, faculty and staff placed 150 American flags on Curry Commons, each one representing an Alabama veteran whose life was lost to su***de. The annual campaign, known as Operation We Remember, was designed to serve as a visual reminder that veteran su***de is a critical issue, while also aiming to promote healing, education and open dialogue. Operation We Remember is a collaborative effort of the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs, the Alabama Department of Mental Health, local colleges including Troy University, and municipalities. Flags were also placed at TROY's Dothan and Troy campuses. If you or someone you know needs help, contact the Su***de and Crisis Hotline by dialing 988.
