Dottie’s Annual Christmas Cookie Party deserves a post of its own🍪🎄🎉

1-4: About a week before the party a small group of students went over to help finish decorating the tree and start on making some delicious german cookies🇩🇪🍪

5-7: And then it was time for the party! Lots and lots of cookie decorating, good conversation, laughter and just a great time at Dottie’s house (as it always is:)

8: The winning cookie decorating plate!

9: Honorable mention. How cute, a cookie decorated as Dottie ☺️

Oh and if anyone wants to know the current status of how many nutcrackers are in the Shuman household. The answer would be 147 🎄

Hey all! As many of you know, the night of September 27th, our beautiful campus was unexpectedly hit by Hurricane Helene. Gratefully the ORS building and facilities were not too badly impacted and there was minimal damage. More importantly all faculty and students are safe! We all moved back into campus and started in-person classes on Oct 24th! How grateful are we to be back:) However I ask that all continue to pray for this region of WNC and those who were heavily impacted and affected by Helene!
Photos include:
1. Lake Susan day after hurricane hit (sept 28)
2. One of main roads to get into main campus (sept 28)
3-4 Field next to challenge course (today), there was much debris immediately after hurricane due the winds and waters bringing supplies and what not all the way from an auto body store around the corner to this field. Gratefully, alot of that debris was picked up and there is just rocks, dirt and what not.
5-6: Road in front of Abbott Hall, just a little damage due to the amount of water flowing down the road
7-10: RIP our beloved ORS Bus, the hurricane waters came in and made her full of mold:(
