My first semester as Director of Bands here at MDCC has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I am so proud of these students because of their dedication and commitment to excellence. I look forward to a great spring semester and continuing to build this program to the next level.

Today, I had an opportunity to participate in the college and career fair at Cleveland Central High School. I was privileged to meet some great students who can enhance the music program at MDCC. The future is definitely bright for the “Spirit of the Delta”!!

I am extremely proud of the hard work and dedication these students have demonstrated throughout my first year as Director of Bands. The future is very bright for the “Spirit of the Delta” marching band. Applications and scholarships for the spring semester are available! Information about auditions for Fall ‘24 will be coming soon! Come and be apart of the best community college band in the land!!

Each Tuesday, MDCC spotlights a specific major or program of study that we offer. Today's spotlight is Music!

The area of music within the Fine Arts Department is organized to serve in a three-fold nature: to provide sound guidance and thorough training for its gifted students whose goal is to achieve a career in professional music; to develop competent teachers in the field of Music Education; and to enrich the cultural background of the music majors, the entire student body, and the area in which the community college serves, through appreciation courses, concerts, and recitals.
