🌌 Space Fact Friday!

The James Webb Space Telescope is pushing the boundary between planets and stars.

Astronomers recently found extremely low-mass brown dwarfs in the star-forming region IC 348, including objects only about twice the mass of Jupiter. Even more surprising, one of them appears to have a disk around it, suggesting that small planets may be forming around an object that is itself almost planet-sized. 🤯

Discoveries like this are helping astronomers rethink how stars, brown dwarfs, and planets form. 🔭✨
