The MFA in Dance Program just wrapped up our January Intensive, two weeks in person on campus in Moraga. Students studied lighting and Somatics, while also engaging in Choreography projects. Our graduating cohort is moving forward to present their thesis in June 2026-we look forward to 8 outstanding performances!

Applications are open for a Summer 2026 start, our priority deadline is Friday March 13th. Come study with us, and earn an MFA in Dance: Creative Practice.

MFA Program Director Rosana Barragan is the first Saint Mary's faculty member to be recognized as a Fulbright Specialist. In 2024 she traveled to Bogotá, Colombia to lead a project on dance, embodiment and the new biology of water. This weekend, the premiere of Davalos Dance's 30th Anniversary Concert takes place at ODC.

Professor Cathy Davalos Presents work, celebrating 30 years of dancemaking that addresses rematriation, land sovereignty, colorism, immigration, LGBTQ+ justice, and race.

This work features MFA program faculty Rogelio Lopez as well as Alum and faculty Shaunna Vella and Andrew Merrell.
