For our final 2 events of the fall, Aaron Lee’s (Physics) program invites students to walk up to the observatory pad and gaze at the night sky. This program serves as a perfect embodiment of the theme “Looking Outward” and is accessible for all students, particularly in CS/Math, Physics, and Astronomy. With help from Aaron’s Astronomy students, the workshop makes Galileo’s observations and deductions apprehensible. Hope to see you there! 🌌🔭✨

Join us for Art as Resistance: A Creative Workshop led by Sarah Vital, Laura White, & Dana Herrera! 🖌️

This will be a hands-on workshop connecting artistic endeavors with Penelope from The Odyssey. We will explore the role of handcrafting as both an act and an expression of resistance, and consider the value of craft for the formation of social identity and community connection. Participants will co-create woven artworks, and will engage with a discussion of Penelope’s role in the classic text.
