Join Instructor Marty McGuinn as he delivers the Intro to Technical Rescue class at Chesterfield FD beginning next week! This course is a co-requisite for the Technical rescue specialty certifications. Those who are certified NC firefighters are exempt (receive credit) for this course.

By now, many of you have learned of a significant rescue incident involving a subject who had fallen near Shortoff Mountain yesterday. The rugged remote terrain required a large technical rescue response from throughout a 60-mile radius of Burke County. It is for this reason, our WPCC Regional Training concept exists. We offer specialized Search & Rescue training courses within our region many are unable to find locally. What a great demonstration of commitment & teamwork among our regional affiliates in accomplishing such a difficult challenge in the remote areas of Linville Gorge. Job well done folks!

Thinking about building a live fire training facility or have one already in use? We are offering a unique 2 hr. training opportunity provided by Fireblast Global to learn more about the Thermablast (TM) panels being used by many agencies in today's live fire training structures. This is not a live fire training session but an opportunity to learn the characteristics and limitations of thermal liners for live fire training structures.

Class Details:
Offering #1: September 1 1800-2000 hrs.
Offering #2: September 2 0900-1100 hrs.

We are gearing up for our upcoming Surface and Swiftwater Rescue season. We purchased over $15,000 in water rescue equipment recently and are breaking the equipment in this week. Hope to see our regional rescue partners at our upcoming Surface water refresher class on Thursday!
