High School Access Early College Program

High school students can enroll in West Virginia University courses to earn college credits.

As a current high school student, you can enroll in West Virginia University courses and earn credits towards your college degree. With the ACCESS WVU Early College Program, you can choose to enroll in college courses completely online - 24/7, anywhere you have access to high speed internet - or onsite in participating high schools. As a result, the ACCESS WVU Early College Program will help you reach your educational goals sooner!

The WVU High School ACCESS Program's Fall 2026 application period is still open for eligible students to obtain college credits before they graduate from high school! 😀

If you have a 3.0 or higher GPA (grade point average), and are in the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, we encourage you to apply! ☑️

Highschool and homeschooled students may apply from anywhere in the country, but you must be a U.S. citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident. 😉

Students may take non-restricted undergraduate courses between 100-299 level online, on WVU's main campus in Morgantown, WV, or as a dual credit option within your high school. 📚🗒️✏️

Sharing is caring! 💛💙💛💙 The School of Mathematical and Data Sciences (SMDS) at WVU will host its first Symposium on April 27–28, 2026. They would greatly appreciate if the HS ACCESS students attended.

The symposium will feature:

* Faculty and graduate student presentations
* Undergraduate capstone presentations showcasing student work in mathematics, statistics, and data science
* A capstone poster session and reception

This event is a wonderful opportunity for students to see what studying mathematics, statistics, and data science looks like beyond the classroom, engage with current projects, and connect with faculty and WVU students. It is also a great way for prospective students, including high school students, to explore academic pathways and career possibilities in these fields.

As part of the symposium, we will also host a community screening of the documentary Counted Out on Tuesday, April 28, at 5:45 PM in the Gluck Theater.

Attached is the full symposium schedule and the flyer for the film screening. The SMDS would be grateful if everyone can help advertise these events and encourage attendance.
