WV Global Visitors International Visitors

The WV Global Visitors is responsible to host and to do the programming for the international visits that come to West Virginia University, the city of Morgantown and West Virginia. The WV Global Visitors and GlobalPittsburgh(formerly the Pittsburgh Council for International Visitors) are collaborating to arrange programming in the Morgantown, West Virginia area for the International Visitor Leade

rship Program. For more than 50 years, GlobalPittsburgh has forged cultural, educational and business relationships between the Greater Pittsburgh Region and the global community through citizen diplomacy – connecting people and institutions in the region with audiences around the world through a wide range of hosting, training, networking and outreach programs. GlobalPittsburgh, formerly the Pittsburgh Council for International Visitors, is a charter member of the National Council for International Visitors, and works closely with the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program and other organizations to bring foreign delegations to the Greater Pittsburgh Region and West Virginia area to experience our centers of excellence in energy, education, economic & environmental revitalization, life sciences, technology, government and more.

Tuesday, November 15, 6:00 PM: Brazil. Mountainlair Ballrooms.

Representatives from the Brazilian Embassy in Washington D.C. will talk about Brazilian culture and the current economic situation, and the presentation will feature a Brazilian band, Brazilian short films, and Brazilian delicacies. Also included in the visit is a forum regarding West Virginia – Brazil business opportunities and challenges, which takes place on Wednesday, November 16 from 8:00 AM to noon.

Mission from the Brazilian Embassy in Washington D.C. (Gold Ballroom - Mountainlair).
10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Roundtable - " Globalization in the 21st Century: The Impact of Emerging
Markets" (Gold Ballroom - Mountainlair) - Sponsored by B&E.
11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Exhibits by the WVU Brazilian Student Association, WVU Portuguese Students,
WVU Office of International Programs and the College of Engineering and Minerals Resources. WVU Brazilian
Ensemble will perform. (Food Court, Mountainlair).
1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Dialogue on Brazil : Study Abroad, Innovative Research and Faculty Initiatives
Between WVU and Brazilian Universities (Greenbrier Room - Mountainlair) - Sponsored by OIP.
6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. - "Brazilian Cultural Reception" with Brazilian music and food. Presentation of the First
Secretary Head of the Cultural and Public Information Section - Mr. Andre Durham Maciel de Castro. Event is
Free and Open to the Public! (Ballrooms - Mountainlair).
