WVU Injury Control Research Center Although the ICRC was formally established in September 2004, its origins go back to 1992, when WVU first established a Center for Rural Emergency Medicine.

The Injury Control Research Center at West Virginia University is dedicated to advancing injury prevention in West Virginia, the Appalachian region, and the nation through research, education, outreach, and partnerships. The WVU Injury Control Research Center (ICRC) is one of 11 ICRC's across the United States funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC).
