Available Courses: Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Response on Mass Transit and Passenger Rail Systems DOD-007-RESP Sponsoring Agency: DoD/Department of the Army/Joint Interagency Training and Education Center (JITEC)/WVNG Course Length: 3 training days (28.0 hours) Course Delivery: Residential Training Course Level: Respond Continuing Education Units: 2.8 Course Description: This course provides an environment for first responders to perform tactical operations in a scenario-driven exercise under realistic incident conditions involving a post-blast IED incident on a mass transit or passenger rail system. Training addresses the technical aspects of planning and implementing an Incident Command System to provide command and control over a post-IED incident utilizing classroom presentations, hands-on performance based training, and a full-scale exercise in a realistic environment located at the Center for National Response (CNR) Memorial Tunnel Complex, Gallagher, West Virginia. Mission Areas: Respond Target Audience: Law Enforcement (LE) Emergency Management Agencies (EMA) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Fire Service (FS) Hazardous Materials Personnel (HZ) A WMD Event: Freight Rail Hazardous Materials Incident Response Involving Mass Transit and Passenger Rail Systems DOD-008-RESP Sponsoring Agency: DoD/Department of the Army/Joint Interagency Training and Education Center (JITEC)/WVNG Course Length: 3 training days (29.0 hours) Course Delivery: Residential Training Course Level: Respond Continuing Education Units: 2.9 Course Description: This course provides an environment for first responders to perform tactical operations in a scenario-driven exercise under realistic incident conditions involving a HazMat incident on a mass transit or passenger rail system. Training addresses the technical aspects of planning and implementing an Incident Command System to provide command and control over a post-HazMat incident utilizing classroom presentations, hands-on performance based training, and a full-scale exercise in a realistic environment located at the Center for National Response (CNR) Memorial Tunnel Complex, Gallagher, West Virginia.
