The Joint Interagency Training Education Center (JITEC) and West Virginia University (JITEC@WVU) are offering FEMA approved first responder training with its collaborative partners the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the West Virginia National Guard. This important training is available to first responders, military, and collaborating groups throughout the United States. The jewel

of this training is the 2800 foot Center of National Response Memorial Tunnel near Charleston, West Virginia. Often called the Disneyland for First Responders, the Tunnel is a training venue that offers a realistic disaster setting equipped with subway cars and station and a myriad of conditions including daylight, darkness, wind, flames, smoke and other emergency challenges requested by you.

Available Courses: Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Response on Mass Transit and Passenger Rail Systems DOD-007-RESP Sponsoring Agency: DoD/Department of the Army/Joint Interagency Training and Education Center (JITEC)/WVNG Course Length: 3 training days (28.0 hours) Course Delivery: Residential Training Course Level: Respond Continuing Education Units: 2.8 Course Description: This course provides an environment for first responders to perform tactical operations in a scenario-driven exercise under realistic incident conditions involving a post-blast IED incident on a mass transit or passenger rail system. Training addresses the technical aspects of planning and implementing an Incident Command System to provide command and control over a post-IED incident utilizing classroom presentations, hands-on performance based training, and a full-scale exercise in a realistic environment located at the Center for National Response (CNR) Memorial Tunnel Complex, Gallagher, West Virginia. Training addresses the technical aspects of planning and implementing an Incident Command System to provide command and control over a post-HazMat incident utilizing classroom presentations, hands-on performance based training, and a full-scale exercise in a realistic environment located at the Center for National Response (CNR) Memorial Tunnel Complex, Gallagher, West Virginia.
