Just before summer break, residential construction students were wrapping up work on a second small house they built entirely in the lab this semester. From framing walls to plumbing, electrical work and insulation, students experienced every stage of the build process firsthand. Next stop: transporting the completed house to a family later this year!

Today, our campus welcomed high school students from across New York State for the 2026 NYS Conservation Contest hosted in partnership with our local BOCES programs.

Ranging from forestry and wildlife to environmental science and natural resource skills, students showcased their knowledge, teamwork, and passion for conservation careers. We’re grateful to all of the students, educators, volunteers, and industry professionals who made today such a success.

Thank you for spending the day with us on campus and investing in the future of conservation in New York State! 🌳

The 36th annual Automotive Training Fair returns to SUNY Morrisville June 15–18. Open to area instructors and students, the event allows educators to complete required NATEF-accredited industry update training while connecting with industry professionals and exploring the latest automotive advancements. Registration begins daily at 8 a.m. in the Automotive Technology Building and costs $90 per day. Overnight accommodations are available for an additional fee.

This year’s lineup focuses on high-demand skills and emerging tech. Highlights include:
• Artificial Intelligence: How Ford uses AI for repair order documentation.
• Hands-on Diagnostics: A lab scope jamboree and tech updates from BMW, Snap-On and Chrysler/Stellantis.
• EV Safety: An optional eight-hour course on high-voltage electric vehicle systems and safety.
• Classroom Strategy: New teaching techniques to improve student accountability in the lab.
• The Extras: A 3D printing workshop and a tour of the Norwich Classic Car Museum.
