For junior biology major Nicole Essien, one connection changed the course of her Clayton State journey.

After discovering Laker STEM Sisters during her sophomore year, Nicole found the confidence to step outside her comfort zone, build relationships, and embrace new opportunities. What started with a classroom visit grew into a community that helped her see what was possible for herself.

Today, Nicole is pursuing her goal of going to medical school and serving as president of Laker STEM Sisters, where she’s helping create that same sense of possibility for others.

Laker STEM Sisters encourages students to explore STEM careers, build connections, and find their community on campus. Nicole’s story is a reminder that sometimes, finding your people is the first step toward finding your path.

Bingo, Beats, and Belonging was a kick-off the fall semester event sponsored by Clayton State University’s Disabilities Services department.

Students who attended the event in Laker Hall enjoyed playing bingo and winning prizes in an environment that was safe and inviting. 🥳

🎶Music was also played during the event that encouraged students and staff to dance, laugh, and have fun. 💕

We hope your school year is off to a great start! As we look forward to an exciting year at Clayton State University, we are pleased to introduce our newly redesigned homepage.

Created with our students and the broader Laker community in mind, the new homepage features a fresh, visually appealing design, improved mobile functionality and easier access to important information. Visitors can quickly connect to academic programs, admissions information, student resources, campus life, upcoming events, university news and more.

The launch of the new homepage is the first phase of a broader website redesign. As you explore the site, you will notice that some pages will continue to feature the current design. Updating these pages will be part of the next phase as we work toward creating a consistent, modern and user-friendly experience throughout the Clayton State website.

Clayton State University’s College of Business 'Launch CSU' program helps entrepreneurs strengthen their businesses through workshops, mentorship and hands-on support. Members of the inaugural cohort, Alexandra Johnson and Jabinia Davender, share how the program has helped them gain practical knowledge, strengthen their businesses, and pursue new opportunities for growth.

Today, the Clayton State University 2026 Women’s Soccer Season kicks off at 3:00 pm at Laker Field, located behind the Student Activities Center (SAC).

Clayton State Students with a valid Laker Card get free admission!

Take in the sunshine this afternoon and support the Women’s Soccer Team as they compete against the Lions from Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs, Georgia.

The video shows the Women’s Soccer Team working hard to sharpen their skills and work together during practice, so come to Laker Field at 3:00 pm today and cheer them on to victory!

Clayton State Club Football returns for a third season today, Saturday, August 29 at 6:00 pm vs. Lighthouse College.

The game takes place at Morrow High School Stadium
4930 Steele Rd, Ellenwood, Georgia.

Clayton State Club Football won the inaugural New South Athletic Conference football championship last season by defeating Lighthouse College.

Laker Nation looks forward to seeing what the team will accomplish this year in their third season.

MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University women's soccer team opens its 2026 season on Sunday at Laker Field. Second year head coach Ricky Clarke is looking to improve upon the 2025 season.

Today, the Clayton State University 2026 Men’s Soccer Season kicks off at 7:00 pm at Laker Field, located behind the Student Activities Center (SAC).

Students with a valid Laker Card get free admission!

So come out and show your Laker pride as our Men’s Soccer Team takes on the Buccaneers from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee.

As you can see from the video of the Men’s Soccer practice earlier this week, the team has been working hard to prepare for the game, so come to Laker Field tonight at 7:00 pm and cheer them on to victory!
