Alumni Spotlight - Christy Dickerson Clayton State University played a pivotal role in shaping my journey into nursing by fostering and guiding my vision through meaningful experiences and a supportive environment. Through clinical rotations in various hospitals, hands-on simulation training, and the encouragement of dedicated faculty, I was able to grow both professionally and personally. One individual who had a profound impact on my success was Dr. Dina Swearngin, whose commitment and willingness to invest her time in me—whether in the halls or lobby—made a lasting difference in my educational experience. While my passion for the medical field began long before Clayton State, the University provided me with the opportunity and foundation to fully develop my purpose.
