These future physicians are one step closer to serving communities across Georgia thanks to a generous donation from Southwell in Tifton!

Each incoming DO '30 student recently received a Littmann Classic III stethoscope presented by Southwell President and CEO Christopher Dorman. The stethoscopes included a tag bearing the message: “Training Meets Commitment" and a note congratulating them for starting medical school.

Students say being handed their first medical instrument made everything feel real! We are of this group already.

PCOM honors and celebrates Juneteenth—the day marking the end of slavery in the United States. It was on June 19, 1865, that Union soldiers, led by General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the American Civil War had ended and that the enslaved were now free–more than two years after Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation that freed slaves.

Regular college operations will be closed on Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

PCOM South Georgia strengthens rural health education with new partnerships, experiential learning and a Rural Health Track Certificate.

It’s a wrap on this week’s Opportunities Academy (OA)!

From learning about the college application process and interview tips, to networking with health professionals, to simulated “patient encounters,” clinical skills practice, CPR and Stop the Bleed training, it was a busy week for our high schoolers—and now OA graduates.

We’re of all the hard work put into making this year’s program not just a success but a fun learning experience!
