Mock Trial Team at Central Michigan University

The CMU Mock Trial Team will be hosting its annual exhibition on Thursday, April 7th at 6:30pm. The exhibition will take place in Anspach Hall in room 161.

Please join us and act as our jury as we present to you the case of State of Midlands v. Dakota Sutcliffe and help decide whether or not Dakota Sutcliffe is guilty of aggravated arson! Our team has been working hard all year, and we are so excited to show you everything that we have put into making this year an amazing year for our team.

The CMU mock trial team will be outside the Blue Gator this Thursday selling grilled cheeses! All of the money earned will go towards costs of participating in this seasons regional. We hope to see you all there!

This past weekend our team had the opportunity to go down to Lansing to participate in MSU's Red Cedar Classic. This was the first in-person tournament in almost two years! We worked very hard preparing for this, and we are super proud of how it turned out for us.

Additionally, our team won CMU's FIRST EVER Spirit of AMTA (SPAMTA) award! The SPAMTA award is awarded to the team that best exemplifies the ideals of the American Mock Trial Association - civility, justice, and fair play.

We would like to congratulate our teams on their awesome performance at our American Mock Trial Association regional tournament this past weekend.

With a record of 5-1-1, our Maroon Team qualified for The Opening Round Championship Series (ORCS) on March 13 and 14th! This is the first time a team from Central Michigan University has EVER advanced beyond regionals. Congratulations on ranking 4th out of 20 teams!

Our Gold Team also performed outstandingly in their regional tournament with a record of 3-4-1!

Both our Maroon and Gold teams had numerous attorneys and witnesses get ranked in the top three in their individual trials. Congratulations everyone!

This weekend our Maroon team participated in their first virtual scrimmage against Bethany Lutheran College! ⚖

The plaintiff team consist of: Julian Moses, Eleanor McFarlan, and Kevin Simmons

The defense team consists of: Maggie Meyer, Gabby Snider, and Kaleigh Pyko

The witnesses are: Abigail Scott, Nick Hare, and Kyle Walker (not pictured)
