CMU Sig Eps. Please read below from the 1901 Club of Detroit. This is a great way to network with other Sig Eps. There is a link below to find out how to register to various events they host. Sam Moschelli has contact info below. He is the district governor for the Michigan Sig Ep's.
We started the 1901 Club of Detroit 2 years ago, where it's lived mostly on LinkedIn and Facebook. We had a strong year of events in 2014, but it wasn't headed in the direction that we wanted to take it. We pulled back a bit since then, assembled a Board of Directors and have built out a comprehensive year of events in 2016.
We kick off our big year of events starting with a private tour at 5:30pm January 21st at "The District Detroit Preview Center" followed by a networking reception and panel discussion on "Leadership Lessons" in the Celebration Room at Hockeytown Café, moderated by 1901 Club of Detroit Co-Chair Joe Luellen Lawrence Tech '97.
If you're not familiar with The District Detroit, this is the preview center for the new Red Wings arena and surrounding neighborhoods. The tour of the preview center features a scale model of the entire project, built-out suites and amenities that you will find in the arena, as well as the types of features and businesses in each of the surrounding neighborhoods that will make up the District.
The Preview Center is in the North East Corner of Comerica Park. Tours will take 20 people at-a-time and go for 30 minutes. Join us for drinks afterwards at Hockeytown Café starting at 6:00pm. The panel discussion will start shortly after the tours (~7:30pm/8:00) and feature SigEp business leaders as well as a special guest from The District Detroit Team, Rod Blake, Director of Real Estate for Olympia Development. Other panelists include:
Brother Matt Ikle: MI Iota
President/CEO, Elite Insurance Agency
Brother Mike Mackens: MI Theta RLC
Executive Director Global Programs, Martinrea International
More guest Speakers to be announced. Spouses and significant others welcome. Detailed invite to follow.
