They did it! The BSU Public Relations Student Society of America has been awarded the PRSSA National Star Chapter Award. This recognition wouldn't be possible without the chapter’s amazing members, officers, and faculty.

BSU PRSSA empowers students in communication through hands-on projects with a nationally affiliated student-run firm, industry networking, and career preparation, bridging classroom learning with real-world experience.

We’re proud of the chapter’s journey and are excited to celebrate them as they look forward to the future!

Congratulations to Assistant SJSC Director Matt Lowe for receiving the Dean’s Choice Faculty Award!

This award recognizes Lowe for all of the work he’s done within the SJSC, including making student success a priority. Whether he’s supporting students through helping to create memorable experiences for them or bringing people together through some of the school’s biggest events, CCIM Dean Kristin McCauliff recognized Lowe’s ability to make students feel welcome and supported.

Join us for a Midday Visions and Perspectives event featuring Jena Ashby, Relationship and Resource Director for the Nonprofit Support Network!

A lifelong Muncie resident and Ball State alumna, Ashby brings years of experience working with local nonprofits and building meaningful partnerships throughout the Muncie/Delaware County community.

Ashby's presentation explores the power of community development and storytelling, as well as the important role data collection plays in strengthening communities and organizations.

The School of Journalism and Strategic Communication is hosting this event Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. in LB 125. All are welcome to attend!

Congratulations to Associate SJSC Lecturer Kate Elliott for receiving Ball State University’s Excellence in Teaching Award!

Chosen as one of three winners from nearly 390 faculty nominations, Elliott showcased her approach to innovative teaching through a proposed redesign of NEWS 223: Specialized Story Forms. Her vision focuses on giving students more opportunities to connect with the community while building practical skills in project management and accessible storytelling.

We’re proud to celebrate Elliott and the impact she continues to make on SJSC students!
