Ball State Historic Preservation

Ball State Historic Preservation Located within the College of Architecture and Planning, the program offers a master of science, graduate certificate, and minor in historic preservation.

Our master of science in historic preservation (MSHP) program gives a solid foundation for a career in modern preservation. This course of study prepares students from varied undergraduate backgrounds to deal with the complex challenges of rejuvenating the historic main streets of cities and towns, revitalizing neighborhoods, preserving rural areas, and finding new uses for historic landmarks and

landscapes. Our MS in historic preservation meets the academic standards of the National Council for Preservation Education. We offer two options for completing the master of historic preservation degree:

Option 1 is designed for students who already have professional or academic experience in historic preservation. Option 2 is designed for students who do not have previous educational or professional experience in historic preservation.

Did you know that the Germans Immigrants at the time valued highly physical and mental strength as a means to be a good citizen. The Athenaeum was built to support those two goals. It served as a gymnasium education hall, and club house for these German settlers.
