Inaugural Actuarial Science High School Day! 📊🎓

Students heard from distinguished guest speakers—Dr. Ian Duncan (Society of Actuaries President Elect and Vice Chair), Michelle Bradley (SIGMA Actuarial Consulting), Dusty Gray (First Acceptance Insurance), Sydney McIndoo (CedarStone Actuarial), and Jason Luckett (SIGMA Actuarial Consulting)—about actuarial science as a high demand career that blends mathematics, statistics, business, and data analytics.

Through engaging discussions, students gained valuable insight into the work of actuaries, earned prizes through raffles, and left with a clearer understanding of pursuing a degree and career in actuarial science.
A special thank you to MTSU faculty members Dr. Manathunga and Dr. Loke for their hard work, dedication, and leadership in planning and executing this event. Their commitment was instrumental in making this inaugural day a success.

MTeach is saddened by the loss of one of our dear alumni. Huijuk was a staple in the MTeach office during her student days and even served as a mentor teacher for students who came through MTeach after her. We will never forget her smile, her generosity, her kindness, or her home cooked Korean food. She was why we started Taste of Home which morphed into our current Friendsgiving tradition. She was everything we want our alumni to be and more. We will miss her as will the many math students whose lives she touched.
