Later this month, MTSU will be hosting the University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy in the Honors Building Room 106.

The Harris School of Public Policy will be presenting in an informal info session that will give an overview of the degree programs, career pathways in public policy and related fields, and insights into their admission process. Students are invited to bring a copy of their resumes and/or personal statements for reviews and advice.

This event will take place in the Honors Building Room 106 on Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 3:00-4:00PM.

We are grateful to local news station WGNS WGNS Radio for recently showcasing our MAIA (MA in International Affairs) collaborative research. Nyasaina Kwamboka, a summer ‘26 graduate, and Dr. Christabel Devadoss are featured on the August 24, 2026 episode of WGNS’s Action Line Podcasts.

In this episode, they are talking about collaborative research on energy in the American Rust Belt vs rural Kenya, which is where Nyasaina is from originally. Dr. Devadoss is an Associate Professor in PGA and specializes in political and cultural geography. Together, Nyasaina and Dr. Devadoss collaborated on research related to an upcoming academic publication outlined in the podcast!

Thank you again to WGNS Radio for showcasing our MA in International Affairs program, our excellent students, and opportunities to share perspectives on interdisciplinary research and collaboration at MTSU.

"MTSU Mock Trial, combined with Legal Studies Society, Criminal Justice Association, and Moot Court Association, is proud to host MTSU's first Legal Launch!

This will help on September 1st in Honors Room 106 from 5:30-7:30 pm! Feel free to come in at any time! Pizza will be provided, as well as a brief introduction to each organization a part of this event.

This is a very informal social event, so don't worry about any materials or anything! We hope to see you there and help you have a little glimpse into what our organizations are about!"

“ Garrett, who knew she wanted to major in political science, said Lyons made it clear that the College of Liberal Arts faculty was there to support students and provide opportunities to learn outside the classroom.

“Not only did I feel at home when I got here, but I knew for a fact there would never be a time that I didn’t have someone who was going to care about what I was doing,” Garrett recalled.”

Today! MTSU Mock Trial is having their interest meeting this afternoon from 4:30 - 7:30PM (you can drop in when you can) in Peck Hall 211. Come meet the team, hear from the coaches, and learn more about the class and competitive opportunities. Mock Trial is a great opportunity for students interested in studying the law and/or entering the legal profession!
