Last week, we hosted our annual Career Ready Etiquette Dinner & Fashion Showcase, and it was an unforgettable evening! The evening opened with a networking reception hosted by the MTSU Alumni Association . Students then enjoyed a five-course meal, hand-served by , while receiving instruction on professional dining etiquette from Professor Jean Wilson, Department of Management . The evening continued with a runway-style business fashion showcase, featuring looks styled and modeled by the talented students of MTSU Fashion and Design Student Organization and curated from the CDC Career Closet. A special thank you to our employer partners, table hosts, and campus collaborators who made this event possible!

We had an exciting night at the BOLT Awards, where the Career Development Center was represented in a big way!  Two of our student workers, Lizzy Rhodes and Samuel Hackler, were among the many nominees for the "Bolt of Excellence Award" for exemplary student workers. Both deserved to be recognized for the incredible contributions they both make to our department.  Samuel took home the award, and even managed to hype the Career Closet in his acceptance speech!  
 
Adding to the celebration, Career Advisor Elisha Lawrence and Director Beka Moore were among the presenters who bestowed awards on other deserving students during the evening. One of those students was Hannah Ferraria, formerly a Peer Career Ambassador in our department (but we're still claiming her), who received the university's top honor, the President's Award!  
 
 We're so proud of all of these team members for representing the Career Development Center so well! 💙⚡

Our advisors do so much more than one-on-one advising. They partner with faculty to visit classrooms to teach students about career readiness and educate campus on the services offered at the Career Development Center. Additionally, you can find them at all of the MTSU Career events with students and employers.

Currently we are looking for: women's blouses, women's blazers (black, navy, grey), men's button-up dress shirts (S-L), men's suits (black or neutral), shoes, black dress pants, jewelry/accessories, and ties (black, blue, red, neutrals).
We are only able to receive clean, gently used professional clothing and prefer them to be on hangers.

Last week our assistant director, Holly Allen, along with Recording Industry faculty, accompanied six students from to Los Angles for GRAMMY week. Holly organized a visit with Disney Television Animation where Sr. VP of Music, Jay Stutler, talked with the students and gave them a behind the scenes look at how they recruit and develop musical artists for animations shows.
 
Students also visited recording studios, met with alumni in the music industry, volunteered at the MusiCares Person of the Year event, and attended the GRAMMY Awards!
