MTSU's Dr. Ben Stickle—a nationally recognized expert on porch piracy—recently spoke with WKRN about package theft trends affecting Middle Tennessee families. While theft numbers are down 14% from last year, Dr. Stickle explains why thieves continue targeting neighborhoods closer to roadways where packages are easily visible. His research shows that even if you haven't experienced theft directly, you've likely paid for it through higher fees.

An unfortunate holiday tradition has started as porch pirates are steal deliveries, and some victims said they’ve been rethinking holiday shopping.

When a person went missing at Natchez Trace State Park, multiple agencies came together with one shared goal: bringing them home safely.

Thanks to the Tennessee Advanced Communications Network (TACN), first responders from Tennessee State Parks, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Henderson County Sheriff's Department, Henderson County Fire, Henderson County Emergency Management and volunteers stayed connected through clear and reliable communication. Real-time coordination helped rescuers cover more ground, share updates instantly, and stay focused on what mattered most.

That teamwork led to a safe recovery and a family reunited. We are proud to support Tennessee’s first responders and the incredible work they do for our communities.
