Today, our AGR 371 Ag Buildings & Construction class made a visit to the building site for this semester's lab project. A small barn will be constructed for storing primarily a trailer and a tractor.
✅ Step 1: basic site layout with grade measurements for fill and leveling.

Some of our students, along with our Farmall Super C w/ mounted planter, participated in Calloway County high school FFA's tractor drive to celebrate National FFA Week

As a Christmas gift, here's a second project for today. This video is the last one from the tractors class projects this semester. This project focused on a Ford 4000 and was one of the more extensive projects after not running for many years.

Our next tractor video focuses on a John Deere 2510. Dedication means a lot on these kinds of projects. A few days after the semester ended, this group met and finished reassembly and started the tractor.

A 2-for-Tuesday deal: two more videos of projects from this semester's tractor power class. This one is a Case 930, a tractor owned by the Ag Systems Technology program. This tractor was donated several years ago for student learning and will be turned into a scholarship for future students. This group's efforts has nearly finished (we think) the mechanical restoration. Next major step is paint.

Another project from the tractors class, this one is an Allis Chalmers 200. Trace Crowe brought the tractor from his farm and the lead on getting the clutch and associated parts replaced.

The fall '25 semester in AST had lots of activity - full classes, club activities, and projects. One of our classes, AGR 577 / 777 Tractor Power Principles, contains a major hands-on lab project - repairing a farm tractor. These projects range from general maintenance and repair to complete engine rebuilds.

Over the coming days, we'll highlight these projects and the students completing the work. The first one was a John Deere 4440 with a bad engine. The project was to swap the old engine with a better one. **Special note and thanks to Mr. Danny Boyd for his help with this project and guiding the students in this effort. His knowledge and guidance is legendary, very appreciated, and has been very beneficial to many in our agricultural community.**

Big thanks to Jack Tearman from Henry Farmers Co-Op for visiting the AGR 471 Applications in Precision Ag class today. Jack is an Ag Systems Tech graduate that had an early involvement with our drones classes and UAS program at Murray State. Thanks to Jack for sharing his experience operating drones and how he provides services to customers!
