Murray State Homecoming 2023! Feel free to swing by the BSU/BCM this Saturday, October 14th to see the building, meet up with friends, take a break between festivities, grab a snack, or just reminisce. We will open at 8am. BCM has a float in the parade at 9:30, so be on the lookout for that!

Happy 100th Birthday Murray State University! This Saturday, October 29th, the BCM (BSU) building will be unlocked and available for you to visit for Homecoming. We will have refreshments, so come on over anytime after 8am!

Congratulations Heidi! BSU Alumni!

Congratulations, Dr. Heidi Williams, on being named to the 2021 Class of Murray State's !

Dr. Heidi Williams is an associate professor in the department of Languages, Literature and Philosophy at Tennessee State University. She has dedicated her career to cultivating classroom spaces that appreciate and celebrate linguistic differences. While at TSU, she has had the unique opportunity to address very important topics of language tension within the Black community and among second language speakers. Dr. Williams works tirelessly to create a culturally responsive curriculum in order to increase student engagement and retention. In a recent attempt to encourage students to engage with class materials she designed a course theme around rapper and poet, Tupac Shakur. After many years in the field of higher education, Dr. Williams has developed her own blog and educational website,
www.drheidiwilliams.com. Here she documents lessons, reflections, and commentary in a blog titled: envisionED. The blog reflects her pedagogical goal to create authentic experiences embedded in investigation, curiosity, and creativity. While an undergraduate and graduate student at Murray State, Heidi was a member of the Racer Band, Symphonic Band, Sigma Alpha, Student Ambassador, Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, and Baptist Student Union. Heidi remains connected to the Murray State music alumni community and is a proud Racer alumni.

After 40 years of the Baptist Student Center sign pointing students to a place of belonging, we got a new BCM sign! It is super visible even from the Curris Center!

MSU Homecoming is only 2 days away! Make plans to swing by the BSU/BCM building at 800 Waldrop Dr. between 9:00am and 1:00pm Saturday, October 19th. We will have plenty of food and a place for you to connect with friends, reminisce, and/or rest between Homecoming festivities!
