As we observe National Police Week, we pause to honor the courage, sacrifice and service of law enforcement officers everywhere, especially those who gave everything in the line of duty. This week is a reminder of the commitment officers make each day to protect and serve their communities.

We also take this time to remember Jody Cash. His service, professionalism and impact on those around him will never be forgotten. Jody represented the very best of the law enforcement profession and his memory continues to live on through the people he served and the lives he touched.

We are deeply honored to serve our university community each and every day. It is a responsibility we do not take lightly, and we remain committed to protecting, supporting and standing beside those we serve. The trust placed in us is something we value greatly, and during National Police Week, we are reminded just how meaningful it is to wear the badge and serve alongside so many dedicated men and women in law enforcement.

Fourteenth Street (between Payne and Olive Streets) will be closed to motorist traffic on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9 from 7 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m. daily for Murray State’s commencement exercises at Racer Arena. Access will remain open for residents on the impacted block.
