Murray State has a great number of facilities to meet the recreational and fitness needs of faculty, staff and students. Bauernfeind Recreation and Wellness Center is a 73,000 square foot recreation and fitness facility. It includes threefull size basketball courts with hardwood floors; aerobics studio with hardwood floor, mirrors, ballet bar, and sound system; free weights, selectorized machines

and cardio workout equipment featuring treadmills, elliptical trainers, cross trainers, bikes, steppers, and rowing machines; swimming pool featuring lap pool, leisure pool area, whirlpool, vortex, and water bench; two racquetball courts; lounge with dart board, pool table, vending; men's and women's locker rooms; 1/11-mile walking/jogging track; multipurpose room available for meetings, classes, and workout sessions. In the Carr Hall Building/Racer Arena, there are three multipurpose gymnasiums, three small activity spaces, and an indoor jogging track. Outdoor facilities include four basketball courts, 16 lighted tennis courts, two sand volleyball courts, and numerous athletic fields for team sports.
