Music, community and Racer pride were on full display at the Rotary Amphitheater as the Town & Gown Community Band, led by Dr. Ashley Shoupe, delivered a wonderful evening of music. 🎶💙💛

We were especially excited to see so many Murray State alumni and faculty members among the performers, continuing a tradition of service, artistry and community engagement.

Missed the concert? You can catch the band's next performance on July 4 at 7 p.m. in Lovett Auditorium during Murray's annual Independence Day concert.

Murray State men’s basketball is headed to The Music City to take on Georgia Tech on Sunday, Dec. 6! 🏀💙💛

Tickets in the Murray State team block are $100 each and include admission to both the Racers game and the Tennessee vs. NC State game. Seating will be located behind the Murray State bench and assigned in priority order.

The deadline to request tickets is Thursday, June 4, at midnight.

The Murray State Normal and Teachers College Alumni Association was organized June 1, 1926, during a meeting in Wells Hall immediately following commencement for the university’s first graduating class of 12 in the Little Chapel.

That means today, the Murray State Alumni Association turns 100 years old. 💙💛

Murray State senior Brady Johnson is taking his music to the international stage this summer. 🎶🌍
Johnson’s original work, “Octet No. 2 for Eight Trombones,” will be featured at the International Trombone Festival in Latvia after winning the 2025 International Trombone Association Composition Contest in the octet division.
Racer alumni know the power of creativity and mentorship, and moments like this show how Murray State students continue building on that legacy while preparing to make their mark on the world stage.
