With the current situation regarding EHV, in the interest of public safety and health we at the Bill Cherry Expo Center have decided to close the arena to any outside horse traffic effective immediately until the week of December 8th. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and we can’t wait to have you back.

ALL EVENTS THIS WEEKEND ARE OFFICIALLY POSTPONED TO A TBD DATE. We will reschedule these events when it has been declared safe for all of the horses participating in these events. This postponement is due to an ongoing Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1) Outbreak. We have not been personally affected by this outbreak at this time, but we are taking the proper precautions to keep our horses and all of those who would have competed at these events safe and healthy. All tickets for this event will be transferred to the TBD date or refunded upon request.

This includes the 50th Annual Racer Roundup College Rodeo 11/20-11/22, the Finale of our 2025 Fall Barrel Series taking place 11/22, and the High School Rodeo taking place 11/23. Once again to reiterate, all of the above listed events have been postponed to a TBD date.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who have been impacted by this outbreak. And additionally, we would like to thank everyone for their patience and continued support as we navigate through this difficult time.

The health and safety of our horses will always be our number one priority.

Racer Round-Up, September 19, 2025
Approximately 300 regional high school students attend the Murray State University Hutson School of Agriculture Racer Roundup Leadership Event at the Cherry Expo Center. The day is designed for high school freshman and sophomore students to ignite a spark within their school's FFA chapter. Murray State students lead the event and offered breakout leadership sessions for those attending. The sessions include activities centered around key elements of the FFA's mission statement: premier leadership, personal growth, and career success. Thank you to this year's sponsors, Hutson, Inc., Kentucky Farm Bureau and Henry Farmers Co-op.

The Third Annual Farmer Appreciation/Raising Hope Day was held at the Cherry Expo Center on September 17, 2025. Commissioner Jonathan Shell spoke to the FFA students, local Farmers and attendees. He presented several awards to deserving individuals. Miss Kentucky, Ariana Rodriguez's speech was such an inspiration to those in attendance. Dale Dobson, KY Farm Safety Director, was on hand to promote farm safety and Raising Hope to the audience. Raising Hope is a program that focuses on farm safety, farmer's health, and farm rescue. The program seeks to raise awareness of dangers on the farm, health risks on the farm, and the needed training for farm specific rescues. The goal is to encourage farmers to take extra steps to keep themselves, their workers, and their families safe.
