This past Monday-Wednesday was spent in Birmingham at the SkillsUSA State Conference.

We took a small group of students compared to usual this year, but had such a wonderful time preparing them, cheering them on, and watching from the sidelines as they represented our program.

Our line up included:
Gabriela Sandoval - Nail Care; Kaley Attaway was her model
Kaelyn Minor - Customer Service
Zoie Castille - Cosmetology

This year we brought home 2nd place in Cosmetology. 💇‍♀️

We are so proud of each student for participating and showing off their skills.

Last night our program and a select handful of our students got to partner with UNA’s Fashion Merchandising program as they hosted another Designer Showcase.

Super talented students from UNA designed their own clothes and looks from top to bottom for the runway, while other students were put in leadership roles making sure the night ran smoothly and taking care of any high pressure situations (which always happens on nights or events like these). Their students were amazing.

Our students at NWSCC Salon and Spa were given look boards for each of the 28 models to complete hair and make up styles. We had such a fun, fast paced night while getting to learn more about each model and/or student.

Thank you UNA Fashion Merchandising program for always keeping us in your back pocket for your Designer Showcase. We always enjoy the collaboration when they are hosted. 👗👠👢👡👒
