Meet Zarria Metcalfe, a student in our Community Action Northwest Alabama classroom.

Zarria is currently working toward her ACE & WorkKeys certifications, along with MAP certifications in Manufacturing, Healthcare, & Hospitality & Tourism.

Zarria says, “I would recommend the Adult Education program to anyone. It gives you a great chance to advance in the workforce and start your journey towards a fulfilling career.”

Zarria plans on enrolling in our Pharmacy Technician program. We know great things are ahead for her! 👏

The English as a Second Language (ESL) team recently hosted Open House events across all ESL classrooms! 📚✨

Community members were invited to learn more about the opportunities available through the ESL program, meet instructors and current students, explore classroom resources, and enjoy light refreshments together.

Meet Catherine Blurton, Next Steps Case Manager and Adult Education Instructor!

Catherine is new to the team and we are so excited to have her. She says, “The heart of my work is meeting people where they are and supporting them as they take their next steps toward education, the workforce, or both. Empowering others to work toward a better future for themselves through guidance, resources, and support will always be the goal!”

Meet Ashley Garcia and Amanda Jeffries-Cox, both students in our Integrated Academics class on the Phil Campbell Campus. Amanda and Ashley are both working toward completing an Associate Degree in Welding Technology. Amanda is also a member of Millwright Local 1192.

Ashley says, “I would definitely recommend this program, because if it has helped me so much, I know it can help others.”

Amanda says, “I don’t think people realize that a great career is within their reach. By using the resources offered through this program, you can really go a long way.”

We are proud of both of these girls and wish them future success! 👏
