You NEVER know!! Kudos to SLU Athletic Training Program!!!!!
Recently, athletic training graduate students at Southeastern Louisiana University put their life-saving skills into action when a maintenance staff member collapsed on campus. The students responded immediately, assessed the situation and determined the need for CPR. This entirely student-led emergency response was made possible by the skills they developed in Dr. Scottie Patton’s Emergencies in Athletic Training course at the university. In recognition of their remarkable actions and quick thinking, the students were awarded the university’s Presidential Medals. We are so proud of these students and the life-saving care they provided. Their response is a powerful example of the knowledge, skills, and preparedness athletic trainers bring as health care professionals. 👏
