At the start of the fall semester, the campus community comes together to learn more and celebrate the incredible research Cardinals conducted over the summer. Yesterday marked the first time the event expanded to include student internship experiences, creating the Summer Research & Internship Showcase.

Across two sessions, more than 160 Cardinals shared their internship experiences and summer research — with some students presenting on both. Whether working in a lab, an office or another professional setting, these students gained valuable knowledge, developed new skills and built meaningful connections.

This summer, Cardinals gained valuable real-world experience through internships with companies including Molex, Deloitte, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, KeHE, Gallagher, Ulta Beauty, Illinois Conservatory for the Arts and many more.

One week ago, North Central College officially welcomed the Class of 2030 and new transfer students during New Cardinal Convocation.

The incoming class of 1,100 new Cardinals includes 628 first-year students, 322 transfer students and 150 graduate students, representing communities across the country — from Washington to Maine and 25 states in between — as well as 30 countries around the world.

“New Cardinal Convocation marks the beginning of your journey here,” said President Abiódún Gòkè-Paríolá. “The end will be Commencement: when you will walk across the stage — in this very same space — as a graduate of North Central College.”
