ICM 619V Students - You are halfway there!
You have learned how to handle conflict and daily stressors and almost finished with your course.

"I feel grateful to be in this class and to have the chance to reflect on some concepts that are not necessarily brand new to me but that require action and practice to sink in deeply. This has been a space for that."

Master's degree students enrolled in the Conflict Management program are required to complete ICM 6073 Project in Conflict Management.

This course is designed to immerse students in practical research and critical analysis, encouraging them to explore and write about a conflict management issue or challenge they feel passionately about.

In the Spring semester of 2026, six dedicated students from Lipscomb University's Institute for Conflict Management completed the Project course. Each student focused on a unique topic and contributed valuable insights into conflict management.

One student decided to focus on : The Arts and Conflict

What if conflict resolution borrowed from theatre? Lily Corley's capstone explores how creative arts—dance, theatre, storytelling—unlock forgotten tools for peacebuilding by tapping into imagination, emotion, and the body. Art bypasses barriers that traditional methods can't.

Conflict Management in Action -

Scott Broadway - Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Short-Term Program

Conflict management skills go far beyond the classroom.

For one Institute for Conflict Management participant, the program strengthened his work as a father, teacher, teammate, co-worker, and peacemaker. As he travels to Romania through the Fulbright Global Teachers Exchange Program, he shared that the training has equipped him to navigate conflict with confidence, perspective, and purpose.

This is what we love to see: students and alumni using conflict as an opportunity for growth — wherever they are called to lead.

The Institute for Conflict Management launches its Developing Resilience in Disputes, Conflict, and Daily Stressors course tonight, welcoming 11 students.

Here are some quotes from fellow students:

As I/we approach the halfway point of the ICM 619V, I am just thankful. I am thankful for the opportunity to grow through this program. This is something that I did not expect. I expected this to be a course I worked for, not one that would grow me so well. This is something that I look forward to every day.

I am looking forward to seeing what is next.

The program has helped me gain perspective about myself and others."

There is still time to register for the Institute for Conflict Management's Conflict in Religious Settings workshop.

This workshop will focus on the challenges of leadership in the 21st century as leaders guide churches through transition, change and conflict.

Leaders must manage the inevitable transitions and changes of church life, but effective leaders also initiate change as they seek to honor God’s mission in today’s world.

Particular attention will be given to the importance of understanding the church from a systems
perspective.
The workshop will:
(1) explore foundational principles at the heart of good conflict management
(2) propose effective strategies for resolving congregational conflict;
(3) propose a process for initiating purposeful change in a congregational setting.
