Students and faculty in Lipscomb’s Raymond B. Jones College of Engineering are using their Innovation Lab to keep front-line health professionals safe as they treat Coronavirus patients!

We often talk at Lipscomb University about how donors' investments in students change lives. It's not just a platitude — it's real. But the impact can be surprising, even to the point of affecting health and changing life trajectories half a world away, as illustrated by this story involving the award-winning work of students in the Raymond B. Jones College of Engineering.

When a team of students and faculty from the Raymond B. Jones College of Engineering visited Ghana last year to construct a water treatment system to serve an orphanage, school and hospital, they knew their work would have a positive impact in that community. What they did not know is how that work....

Lipscomb alumna Clydetta Fulmer completes sculpture of iconic Civil Rights figure Rosa Parks for Montgomery celebration.

Sculptor Clydetta Fulmer enjoys an artistic challenge. The Lipscomb graduate recently completed a bronze sculpture of Rosa Parks that was the centerpiece of the Montgomery, Ala., bicentennial celebration and anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

One of the really cool things about our Raymond B. Jones College of Engineering at Lipscomb University is the Mini Baja competition every year. Baja SAE is a collegiate competition sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and small-engine manufacturer Briggs and Stratton. The primary goal of the competition is to simulate real-world engineering design projects and their related challenges.

But here's the thing: the rule for participating is that the team has to raise all the money for its work and participation. I thought my engineering friends (or all of my Lipscomb friends who want to see the university do well on the world stage) might want to know about this and join me in helping out.

Great story about alumna Mary Beth Chambers, whose recent monthly gift to Lipscomb put the university's LipscombLEADS campaign over the $210 million mark. “Don’t feel like you have to contribute a huge amount of money to create a legacy. Just make those monthly contributions, and watch it grow!” she says.
