🇻🇳 Global Consulting in Action: SCOPE Group Takes on Vietnam! ✈️💼
Our SCOPE International Consultancy graduate students took their skills global this Maymester by traveling to Vietnam for an immersive consulting project!

The group partnered directly with Source of Asia (SOA)—an international business accelerator and consulting firm on the ground in Vietnam. Our students stepped into the roles of active consultants, working alongside SOA to tackle real-world market entry strategy and international business development challenges. 📈📊 From navigating the business culture of Southeast Asia to diving deep into global commerce, our Bruins gained invaluable, hands-on experience you can't replicate in a classroom.

Thanks to this group for representing Belmont on the global stage! And special thanks to Source of Asia for hosting and working with our students! 🤝

🇧🇪🌎 Congratulations to Dr. Jeff Overby! 🌎🇧🇪
Belmont and the Massey College of Business congratulates Dr. Jeff Overby, Professor of Marketing and International Business, on his official appointment as the Honorary Consul of Belgium for Tennessee!

Dr. Overby was commissioned by the Consulate General of Belgium in Atlanta to help strengthen economic, cultural, and academic ties between Belgium and our region. This prestigious role is a testament to Dr. Overby’s decades of leadership and deep expertise in global business. Dr. Overby will continue to teach and serve as Director of the Tennessee Export Initiative, a U.S. Small Business Administration–funded program that supports small Tennessee companies with reimbursable grants to grow their international business.

We are incredibly proud to have him representing Belmont, Massey and Belgium on the international stage! 🐻🇧🇪

Today we pause to honor and remember the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. In observance of Memorial Day, the Massey College of Business offices will be closed on Monday, May 25. We will reopen with normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26.

This week Belmont stories recounts how Enactus, after dwindling to just three members post-COVID, made a historic resurgence on campus. 💡 Developing Moral Muscle: Ethics in Action at SPARK 2026💡
How do we navigate the complex ethical dilemmas of tomorrow’s business landscape? Five Belmont students spent this semester finding out.

Through Ethics in Action—a new initiative from the Edward C. Kennedy Center for Business Ethics—these students partnered with faculty and professionals to dive deep into the pressing ethical questions surrounding AI & emerging technologies, healthcare, and the music & entertainment industries.

Under the guidance of Professor Thor Wasbotten, Executive Director of the Kennedy Center, these students spent the spring researching areas of deep personal and professional interest. They wrapped up their semester by presenting their findings to a packed room of students, parents, and faculty at the annual SPARK Symposium.

Even better? This initiative doesn't just stop at the presentation—it supports these students with scholarships and resources, while making their research available to benefit the wider community. The Kennedy Center is looking forward to keeping this momentum going with five new students in Spring 2027!

🌏 Belmont Abroad: From Nashville to Melbourne! 🇦🇺🦘

One of our Maymester study abroad groups recently had an AMAZING day in Australia, proving that the Belmont alumni network truly spans the globe! Professor Cate Loes and our students were hosted at Caterpillar (CAT) Melbourne by two of our very own:

👷‍♂️DJ Needs (BBA ’23): Currently stationed in Melbourne as part of the CAT Financial Management Training Program. DJ was the perfect host, giving our students a first-hand look at what it’s like to launch an international business career as a young professional!

👷‍♂️Kevin Sanders (BBA ’11): VP of Sales & Marketing - Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Pacific Islands for Caterpillar Inc., who recently transitioned to Singapore. Kevin shared invaluable career and life advice with the group, showing our students just how far a Belmont degree can take you.
