What is Belmont University Songwriters Association? Belmont University Songwriters Association (BUSA) is a student-led organization comprised of students of the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business. BUSA is designed to be the ultimate resource for Belmont songwriters by hosting mixers, showcases, pitch opportunities and providing important industry information. Members will gain k

nowledge, networking opportunities and resume-building leadership roles through their involvement with BUSA. We also function as the Belmont chapter of NSAI (National Songwriters Association International). Who Can Be A Member of BUSA? BUSA is an inclusive organization and any Belmont University student songwriter will be accepted into the program. You do not have to be a songwriting major to be a member of BUSA. However, some showcases and pitch opportunities within BUSA are awarded through an application process. How Do I Become A Member of BUSA? To become a member of BUSA, you must join via Bruin Link. Bruin Link is a vital part of becoming a member of BUSA because without signing up on Bruin Link, you will not receive the e-blasts and notification e-mails that BUSA sends out regularly. You only have to log into Bruin Link once to sign up for BUSA and then you will receive all the information you need through e-blasts. To access Bruin Link:
• Sign onto your My Belmont account and click on Bruin Link under the Launch Pad tab. This will take you to the Bruin Link homepage.
• From there you can search for ‘BUSA’ or ‘Belmont University Songwriters Association’. This will take you to the BUSA Bruin Link Page.
• Click ‘Join Organization’

Join us on Friday, April 17th at 10am for a special guest panel hosted by BUSA in partnership with the Association of Independent Music Professionals (AIMP) and the Young Professionals Committee.

The Association of Independent Music Professionals (AIMP) is dedicated to connecting music industry professionals and providing opportunities for emerging songwriters. The Young Professionals Committee focuses on helping the next generation of creators and industry leaders grow their careers. Together, they run the Unsigned Songwriters Series, a competition for rising songwriters. Six winners will earn the chance to perform at The Listening Room for A&R representatives, with the showcase taking place June 23rd. Applications open May 1st.

Hailey Harris (Wrensong Publishing), will moderate the conversation with industry experts Kirby Matthews (Back Blocks), Courtney Kruckeberg (Endurance), and Ciara Shortridge (Curb Word Publishing) .
