Design for America is an award-winning nationwide network of student teams and community members using human-centered design to create local and social impact. Since its founding in 2008, DFA has expanded to 14 universities across the United States – Barnard/Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Northwestern, RISD/Brown, Stanford, UCLA, Yale and University of Oregon – and continues to grow at an exception

al rate, hoping to number 50 studios in the coming years. DFA studios lead innovative, replicable solutions to social challenges by focusing on careful analysis of the problem, rapid prototyping, user-testing and interdisciplinary teamwork. Studios are supported in their project by faculty advisors, design experts, community partners and DFA headquarters. Projects run outside of the academic calendar, allowing students to be involved from ideation to implementation. We are looking for students, faculty and community members passionate about making a lasting impact to help us with this work! Design For America Sustainable Solutions Workshop
SATURDAY, MARCH 28th 1:30 PM – Lunch Provided
This 2-hour workshop leads you through the design process by teaching design thinking, user research, and prototyping techniques. This workshop will focus on tackling an environmental issue on campus and teach you how to use your creativity to solve every day problems. This workshop will focus on re-designing the tray drop process at Rand and re-evaluate how we can make a more sustainable solution. Lunch catered by Chipotle will be provided!
