They can work in industry, government, research laboratories, and academia. The long-term outlook for employment of civil engineers and architectural engineers appears to be excellent, both regionally and through the country. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that job opportunities in civil and architectural engineering will increase by 20 percent in next decades, much faster than the average for all occupations.
