Belmont University Hispanic Student Association

Belmont University Hispanic Student Association The HSA at Belmont works to educate and empower its members through diverse, cultural experiences, community service, and professional development.

The Hispanic Student Association is a student-centered organization that aims to empower its members through diverse cultural experiences in community service, social events, and professional development. By engaging its members in extracurricular activities that emphasize diversity, even within its own membership, the organization will enhance the university and community’s understanding of rich

Latino culture and tradition on Belmont’s campus. In fulfillment of its mission, the organization aspires to connect and unite students of Latino decent on campus and beyond. As a Christian organization, the members will esteem values of faith, hope and love in interactions with each other and the community at large. By educating each other, the University community and the wider Nashville community about Latino culture, the organization will foster a greater understanding of how intercultural relationships enrich the university experience of all.

HSA invites you to join us in Chapel on Wednesday January 15 to learn from Cesar Vito, an undocumented immigrant, DACA recipient, first-time homeowner, the first in his family to graduate from college, and a husband and father to American citizens. Cesar will be sharing more about his journey as an entrepreneur and his Christ-centered passion for uplifting others.

After the chapel service, there will be a lunch in the caf at 11:30 (free to all who attend) in the cafeteria meeting room, where folks will be able to hear from Cesar and talk to him more intimately. We also have invited Justice for Our Neighbors- an organization who is co-leading the efforts around education for immigrant communities in anticipation of new administration. They will talk about the ‘Know Your Rights’ campaign that they, together with other organizations are promoting.
